Construction of a 4 storey building to provide 5620 square metres of floorspace for University use (Class D1) and associated surface car parking to provide 59 parking spaces, together with access, landscaping and cycle store - description amended following to increase the floor area by 167sq.m formed within an extended basement.

Luken Beck were proud to secure planning permission for this prestigious scheme and win the national RTPI ‘Award for Planning Excellence in 2016’. ‘Boldrewood’ was the culmination of a 10-year development programme to combine the University of Southampton’s Engineering Centre of Excellence with the Global Technology Centre of Lloyd’s Register. This unique Maritime Centre of Excellence is of international significance and is the biggest university-industry collaboration in the UK.
